Can you achievour goals without a coach? If YES, whats stopping you?

Team Lowden first official outing

The Crossfit Leyland All Star Games is an annual in-house competition run for the members of the Gym, this year there was over 70 people participating.

Although in previous years the event has always been great fun and enjoyable, this year was different. It was the first year we had #teamlowden members competing.

A milestone

Today marks a milestone in the journey of Lowden Coaching, as we officially launch the brand offering Personal Training and Nutrition Support. Lowden Coaching is growing a team of like minded people, all looking to achieve great things through a dash of dedicated hard work, a pinch of supporting each other, and a big portion of my coaching through peronsalised fitness coaching and nutrition advice.

Crossfit Leyland All Star Games Celebration

The All Star Games took place on 21st April 2018, involving three challenging workouts for the team to compete in. Although there where 2 different levels within the competition Rx and Scaled (RX is completing the workout as written, while the scaled workout reduces the complicity of the movement).

The three CrossFit Workouts (WODs)...

WOD 1 - the Maximum weight you could lift for a barbell complex of

  • Hang Clean, Clean, Shoulder to Overhead, Hang Clean, Clean, Shoulder to Overhead.

WOD 2 - For Time Complete

  • 20 burpee box jumps

  • 30 dumbell snatches

  • 20 toes to bars

  • 30 dumbbell snatches

The scaled version was

  • 20 burpee box step ups

  • 30 plate ground to overhead

  • 20 sit ups

  • 30 plate ground to overhead

WOD 3 - 10 minutes complete as much work as possible of

  • 250m Row

  • 10 Thrusters (the thruster weight increases by 5 kg each round)

  • Repeat

Team Pride

The team was evenly split between the two levels, allowing each one of them to compete and participate in the workout that would challenging them but still be achievable. During the day everyone showed how far they had come whether if it was a lifting PB in the hang clean or thrusters, or pushing themselves further than they thought they could! But more importantly having a great time doing it. And I was smiling from ear to ear watching everyone not only push past their previous limits and make themselves proud, but see how everyone supported each other.

At the end of the competition and after all the hard work was done, it was great to see that 5 of the podium spots had been taken by #teamlowden members. Overall competition gave the team a focus , a challenge to train towards and allowed themselves to be pushed out of their comfort zone. You can spend a lot of time training but if you do not have a goal, a timeline and a plan, how do you know your are moving closer to your goal? How can you learn how much you can do if you never push out of your comfort zone?

Through Lowden Coaching I want to ensure we help you achieve your goals and show you what you are truly capable of achieving. I look forward to talking to you about how we can go about achieving them together.

If you want to discuss this in more detail and feel my support will help you achieve your goals, whether that be in fitness, nutrition or mindset coaching then please get in contact with me at #TeamLowden.
